Access to West Sumbawa

Motorbike.
Most commonly accessed by motorbike and 2 ferrys. Starting in Bali, you will take the ferry to Lombok and cross east until you arrive to the second ferry that takes you to West Sumbawa, from there you will ride south to the popular tourist areas. This is a total of 15-18 hours travel time and not that easy on the bum.
Airplane.
Some people choose to fly but traveling with surfboards on these small airplanes can be expensive and inconvenient. A flight from Bali will take you to Lombok where you will have a layover for a few hours, then you will arrive to Northern Sumbawa, then jump into a 4 hour taxi to the north.
New Airport.
A new airport big enough to bring larger passenger airplanes is currently being built. With direct flights from Bali, larger airplanes and its more southern arrival location, travel times will be cut down to 2-3 hours. The increased accessibility will drive the demand for land and business up, with this increase in demand, land prices will follow. Shortly after the announcement of the new airport we saw lots of new investment and we believe this growth will continue for many years to come.

Waterfalls
Here are two of our favorites

Air Terjun Semporon.

A 20 minute ride from Scar Reef bay, this water fall will flow clear water year round, with rope swings and a nice deck for a lunch. Dry season brings a calm and peaceful fall but when wet season arrives you will experience raw and powerful scenes of jungle, water and mist.
Air Terjun Mata Jitu
(The telling eye)

An absolutely breathtaking location, walk straight into a scene from Avatar, this is a bit of a journey but so incredibly worth it! One of the most beautiful waterfalls ever, with flowing crystal clear water, a jungle full of life and colour. If you like photography, beauty or just life its self, this is an experience you must make!

Fishing

With 100kg+ Yellow Fin Tuna in the South, ocean lined cliffs full of Giant Trevalley, Mahi Mahi and Spanish Mackerel all year round and a Marlin season, you will definitely find action with a spear or a hook if you just look beyond the waters edge.
